The people of Tigray have never accepted oppression—whether imposed by foreign invaders or by those claiming to rule in their name. Throughout history, Tigrayans have fought against both external aggressors and internal tyranny, and they have repeatedly emerged with resilience, courage, and an unwavering commitment to freedom.
The forced recruitment of young Tigrayans, including reports that some are underage, has sparked widespread public outrage. The growing opposition to this inhumane practice has been widely reported and documented in numerous videos circulating across social media today. Rather than strengthening Tigray, coercing its youth into war for political power is deepening public anger and division.
No political organization or military leadership has the moral right to sacrifice the lives and future of its own people to preserve its hold on power or advance personal interests. Tigray deserves leadership that respects human dignity, protects its youth, and upholds justice, accountability, and the rule of law.
The enduring strength of Tigray has always come from its people. That same indomitable spirit will continue to rise against tyranny, reject oppression, and defend the values of freedom, dignity, and self-determination that generations of Tigrayans have fought to preserve.
