Open Letter of Congratulations!
Dear Tigrai Democratic Solidarity (Simret),
Tigray Liberty Media (TLM) sends heartfelt congratulations to the Tigray Democratic Solidarity (“Simret”) for convening the anticipated conference. The people of Tigray need a new political direction based on democratic principles to uphold freedom, liberty and good governance, which have been absent in Tigray for the last 50 years. The TPLF’s repressive ideology must end if Tigray is to progress economically, politically and socially. Tigray should be for all Tegaru.
Simret was born to be the beacon of hope for democracy in Tigray, which is eagerly needed by the people of Tigray. Simret’s dedication and commitment to laying down the foundation for democracy is admirable. TLM hopes that Simret will inspire the young generation to come to the forefront in building Tigray’s democracy and its shattered economy.
TLM fully supports Simret’s pursuit of democracy, freedom, liberty, good governance, justice, accountability, separation of party-religion-government, and winning political power through the ballot box. TLM is confident that Simret will put the Pretoria Peace Agreement on its top agenda for its full implementation as a matter of priority.
Opponents and supporters are witnessing that Simret’s members are coming together in unison to tackle Tigray’s challenging issues and clearly devise its political programme for Tigray. This is a historical moment for Simret to shine in the political arena in Tigray and Ethiopia.
We, at TLM, extend our solidarity and support to Simret’s commitment to justice and democracy. The ideas generated at this conference will propel Simret’s integrity and a genuine aspiration for a prosperous future for Tigray.
